Afternoon all, I slept til 10 today
. I was so tired last night after getting up early yesterday I didn't even have trouble getting to sleep. Very unlike me. Well done on the no spend day Mabel, and I hope everything sorts itself out for you Jen.
My busk arrived this morning and I made my (very dodgy) light box. I ended up covering it with one of my brothers old school shirts :rotfl:, but I think I need to make a bigger one anyway so I won't worry about it now. The photos still aren't as good as I'd like and as I've said the light box leaves a lot to be desired, hopefully they will improve when I make a bigger one properly. Anyway, these are the pics so far...(sorry in advance for the size/quantity, but I couldn't decide which ones were best). I'm really enjoying making simple necklaces at the moment, I've got some ideas for more complex things but I'm waiting for some findings to be delivered before I can make them. Finally bought a homeStarting mortgage £289,500 31.01.19 - Current outstanding £192,586.98/CENTER]Overpayments since 27.03.19: £52,407.470 -
Those beads are stunning Nicki, i love that pink necklace-i think simple is best with those beads or you would detract from their beauty-well done you!!! are you going to put them on etsy?0

changed my mind-i like the first green one best now!!!0

Thanks Mabel, I instantly went for the green ones in the shop too. My sister liked the pink beads to start with but then she decided the green ones looked better on lol. I'm going to list them on etsy a bit later today as with most people buying from the US it's better to do that with the time delay.
I'm still trying to decide how much I should try and sell them for. The flower ones cost me about £2 to make because I didn't buy the beads wholesale, but when I do they will cost about £1.10-20 or so each. I could go for quantity and sell them at £5 or so each as that would still make me a reasonable profit (they don't take long to make and I can do it in front of the TV), or I could try and go a bit higher and sell less, I'm not sure lol. That said my sister did say if they were only £5 and someone couldn't decide which colour they liked they might just go for both. Finally bought a homeStarting mortgage £289,500 31.01.19 - Current outstanding £192,586.98/CENTER]Overpayments since 27.03.19: £52,407.470 -
What!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blimey i was expecting you to say at least £15 per necklace! Are your findings silver plate or base metal? Perhaps £7.50 each and then if people want 2 its still a reasonable £15, you know your market best so whatever you think nicki, i suppose im used to sterling silver prices so i was suprised by the price!0

Lol, I might be able to sell them for £15 if I got the right people, and I'd probably hold out for the right people if they took ages to make (like I do with my bracelets), but as they are quick I don't mind selling them for a bit less. My necklaces rarely cost me more that £1 to make, all of my findings are plate and I buy everything at very good prices wholesale. The bottom necklace only cost me about 65p to make! As I like even numbers I think I'll start at $16 and work my way down if they don't sell.. with the exchange rates that works out at about £7.50 anyway. If they sell tha will be only 30p in fees so about £6 profit as the P&P is usually slightly over which will account for paypal fees.
Am trying to persevere with slice the pie now as I need money so badly! I should set myself a daily target really. Am only on one star now, will be a lot less painful when I get the second. Finally bought a homeStarting mortgage £289,500 31.01.19 - Current outstanding £192,586.98/CENTER]Overpayments since 27.03.19: £52,407.470 -
good luck with your necklaces nicki I'm sure you'll sell loads. When ive got some cash I will have smile sweetly and offer to buy a couple of the green beads from you ( would buy a necklace but I can only wear sterling silver- typical!)0
