Thanks, will have a look
. If I do decide to venture into it I think I'll wait til I have a job to buy the materials, but I like the idea of being able to spend longer making something more individual as I will probably wind the costume jewellery up a bit when I have a 'real' job. I actually have so many supplies I think I'd probably be able to get at least £500 if I sold them now, maybe more!
One more question (sorry, I'm really picking your brains..this will be the last one!), how is the jewellery displayed in the shop, did you have to provide stands and things or does it work another way? Finally bought a homeStarting mortgage £289,500 31.01.19 - Current outstanding £192,586.98/CENTER]Overpayments since 27.03.19: £52,407.470 -
No problem nicki ask away!! a good website that i got a lot of info and ideas from when starting is about.com (jewelry section-its an american site hence weird jewellery spelling!)
One of the wedding shops displays my jewellery in the gift boxes i privide them with, the other already has their own stands. prob best to put them in gift boxes anyway then they have the option.
setting up the business cost me about £500 but i made a small profit in the first year and this year so far is going quite well , i wont need to buy too many supplies for a while so everything i earn is profit. will be paying tax next year tho i think but i will be debt free so not so bad!
setting up the business was relatively easy, was concerned about my tax return but did it online and it was really easy.0 -
Thank you so much for the info, it's really great to have someone who has already done it to ask. I think putting it in gift boxes and letting the shop decide is probably the best way to go. I had a look at your site, I think the cluster earrings are very pretty

I've just looked at your website too mm and I really like your teardrop pendant. They look really good. I don't think I'd ever be able to do anything as detailed and arty as that mm, and it's all so professional-definitely not something i could do. You should be really proud it must be quite a skill.
By the way I have beaten my £100 today and still have auctions to finish.
Someone sent me a cheque for payment for an item from ebay, I received the cheque today but they have spelt my name wrong...Do you think the bank will honour it? or should I just e.mail the customer and tell them? any advice greatly appreciated. ThanksGE 36 *MFD may 2043

thanks for the compliments cath but I'm sure you could do it no prob!!
I'd email the buyer and tell them about the mistake then take the cheque and try to pay it in, if not then the buyer will already know they have to send another cheque . The bank may take it I dont know.
Congratulations on your sales though you are doing great ! What sort if things are you selling if you dont mind me asking ?0 -
Hi Jen
Sorry to hear about your dog, fingers crossed he is better soon.
You should be able to claim back the jab but check your excess first (mine is £80  ). Also it will probably be best to wait until you go tomorrow as you can add that as it is the same problem.
Fingers crossed its not too much.

oh jen your poor dog hope he is better tomorrow. I have no idea about pet insurance can you phone them and ask? I would have thought you would get it back as it is not a routine thing like worming or vacinations.0
