I am starting university in Sept and have been awarded my student loan for then. :j

Does anyone know when the banks will start their new offers for student accounts?

Hi Sol00,

It's normally around May/June that the offers start coming out, so it won't be long!

But before you get one a bit of advice: definitely shop around first to look for the best offer. By this I don't mean the free stuf that comes when you open an aco!!!!! As a student just finishing the three years I can tell you the most important thing is an interest free over draft facility - the higher the better! But do not use this as if it's your money, lol, you will have to pay back. But as a student there will be times (i.e. weeks before loan payments) when a little extra help is needed.

Saying this though, if you are staying away from home, natwest normally offer a five year young persons railcard for free which gets you a 1/3 off all rail travel, which could save you a lot of money during your time at uni. They do offer an interest free overdraft facility as well, so they're probably going to be one you will want to consider.
