there seems to have been a few of these rate drop announcements in the last few days.
Why are they all seeming to suddenly drop their rate almost a month on from the last BoE rate cut

I am absolutely sick to death of B&B, that I've just closed my account this morning and transferred all of my money out. I've been with them for just under two months. They are slow at updating accounts, and I have changed my interest instructions twice to monthly, for it to only keep going back to anually! Now the rate has dropped, I'm off!0

simply switch to a better one0

They have developed a habit over the last year or so of dropping their interest rates then introducing a new account paying better rates only to repeat the process a few months later.
They used to be a very reliable place for one's savings.0 -
Im having problems with Bradford and Bingley regarding the opening of one of these accounts, i oppened it online on the 11th April and sent my passport and bank statement the next day, the account has been opened but i still haven't got my passport back or recieved the welcome pack with details about the account, so cant access it online or transfer any money into it either. I rung them up at the start of last week and was told that the account was open and my passport would be returned using recorded delivery, they will get another call off me tommorow if my passport doesn't arrive!0

Rates on all accounts bar the Icelandics will be going down over the next few days due to the base rate reduction on the 10th April. B&B have only passed on a 0.15% reduction rather than the full 0.25%.
Give it a week or so for all the announcements to come out on rate changes to get a true picture of the best buy tables.0
