gas tumble dryers

just wondered if anyone uses a gas tumble dryer, save money? installation costs etc.. they seem to be a good idea..

Gas tumble dryers function in exactly the same way as electric tumble dryers except for the significant savings on energy costs - typically over 60%. That’s almost 1/3 of the running costs of a similar sized electric tumble dryer.

Good afternoon: We have had a full size i.e. North American Whirlpool gas dryer for 6 years....excellent product but as it is a gas appliance it should be installed and serviced annually by a CORGI who holds the qualification for gas dryers(and very few have it). To find a CORGI look here

I have never had a customer ask me to install one of these. I would be flabbergasted if you found someone with the required training / certification to install or service it.

Good afternoon: We must be 'blessed' then...7 installers within 3 miles of our home in East Kent are CORGI registered for gas tumble dryers and close to 20 within East Kent ( 'Find an Installer' search results from www.trustcorgi.com). Go figure.

P.S. Are you now in a state of flabbergastation?:D

Yes I am. I am also gobsmacked that corgis think it's worth the cost and effort to take the laundry element.

So, flabbergasted and gobsmacked in on day - about usual for me. Mind you, I'm still reeling over the requirement for a flue gas analysis element.

Good morning: Such is the daily life of a CORGI. Makes you wonder... will the next new 'requirements' cause caniptions?

    Enjoy the Bank Holiday.

I have had my White Knight gas tumble dryer for ten years (it's now on the blink) prior to that I had another White Knight gas tumble dryerfor eight years. I wouldn't be without one. Running costs are low. I'm married to a gas technician so installing one ain't a problem!:j
