As above really, I made beef in beer last night but as usual I have half a bottle left which I have no other use for. Would it be ok to freeze it?
Thanks.
Thanks.

stick it in a plastic bag in the freezer, it might or might not freeze depending on the alcohol content, but it won't do any harm if you want to use it in a casserole again.

I was just wondering if you did freeze it whilst still in the tin/can if they would blow on us if we did it. Or is that an old-husband/wives tale I heard years ago lol.0

they dont explode, they just expand a bit0 -
Well, the liquid would expand in the bottle/can so could break the glass/tin."I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0 -

Never had a can burst in freezer but have had top come off bottles but not a problem due to it being frozen.
The alcohol does not freeze though so just throw away the ice and get propper messed up and prob die!!

I would decant to another container and then freeze. Not sure if it retains it's alcohol when frozen.

Ended up discussing this last night and a story of making beer ice lollies was repeated. Basically beer will freeze but apparently these ice lollies tasted disgusting. I believe the gas goes into solution so the taste is affected. It might be OK when defrosted though. I have seen full cans of fizzy drink explode in the freezer.0

I've bagged it up and put it in, some of it has frozen and some is still liquid. Hopefully it'll taste alright as its just being used for cooking.0

If it's being used for cooking with would it not be better to cook off the alcohol then freeze it?One day I might be more organised...........

Bit that hasn't frozen is the alcohol - hence the comment by ianian99 above. Don't know if it will affect the taste - let us know....0
