DC07's have a tendancy to break down and is one of the less reliable model's of Dyson's. Ours is always having problems and I've become quite the expert in dismantling and reassembling it.

One common problem is that the cyclones get clogged up and needs to be taken apart every so often and cleaned out properly (A jet wash is handy here!).

But overall a Dyson is much much better than any competitor and in my opinion, a DC04 may be 2 generations behind but its still way ahead of its competitors!

Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.
  • I have had a DC03 for 7 years. It is still on the original belt and is used daily. I clean the filters every 6 months I hve just replaced the brushbar (bought brand new of EBay £6) It has never faulted. You should steer clear of the newer models (judging by this thread) and go for the DC03/4

    HELP!!

    Which are the best dysons???

There are lots of offers out there, but the dco7 and the dc04, mentioned above seen very good, but I don't know which is the best.

I have the DC07 Animal with extra brush for picking up pet hairs. I love my Dyson. It is much better than any other cleaner I have used. Plus I only paid £150 around a year ago. Bargain. I had a DC04 before that. This model is slightly heavier but I can manage it and I am not very big.
    3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Anyone got a Vorwerk or a Kirby?

    Both extremely good cleaners.

Quote from Which - ...' In recent times, the only uprights we’ve found that clean as well as the Best Buy cylinders have been Dysons. The Dyson DC07 Animal , Dyson DC14 All Floors and its newest model, the Dyson DC15 (also known as The Ball) did outstandingly well in our tests. The problem is that Dyson’s reliability is consistently below average, so they all miss out on being a Best Buy. ....'

I think the Dysons are a great design but the build quality just isn't there. Judging from problems family and friends have had with this .. I steered clear and went for a Miele - never looked back.
