Which Free Ad Blocker?

Norton 360 has now updated to version 2.0. All good except Ad Banner blocking has gone!!! Very irritating.

Can anyone recommend a reliable and safe free ad blocker to download please?

There seem to be a few around but don't want an all singing all dancing toolbar - just something to get rid of those ads!

    If you're using Firefox, install the Adblock Plus extension. If you're using IE7, install IE7 Pro.

    I've been using Panicware's Popup-stopper for a long time, and I'm quite happy with it. It's free, and seems to do the job very well.

    I use Firefox with AdBlock Plus, friends use Avant browser with built-in ad-blocker.
    It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!
    (OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)
