    You could build a decent enough system for well under £300 that would do all you wanted and more. Or depending on the system you have now, upgrade.
    If you built a system now chances are its going to be out of date in five years anyway, upgrading the heck out of your system till you cant upgrade it anymore. When you cant upgrade it anymore its probable time to move on.

    This company were mentioned in another thread - cant find it now, but this is a link to a Cheap PC they do. Prices are from £119 which is the cheapest I have seen so far. I'd have to include an Operating System if I bought one as I dont have a spare, but even they are reasonably priced.
