sky broadband help!!!

hi,

i have just got to my parents house after 2 weeks away at work and i cannot connect to their wireless router.

none of the settings have been changed on the router while i have been away (so my dad says) but i cant connect my laptop to the internet wirelessly via it anymore. all it comes up with is local access and unidentified network.

i have also tried connecting my brothers laptop to it but that laptop cant even see the wireless connection.

i cant think of what to do.

can anyone help.

Someones reset the router??, dunno m8, just set it up again from scratch, try deleting the previous connection on your laptop then search for wireless networks, this time don't use passkey and have the default password ready

Don't know if it's related, but Sky have been rolling out new firmware for the DG834GT
Mine was done 30/04/08 @ 6-30pm (was V1.02.28 now V1.03.87)
Just checked my laptop, wireless access working fine

Unless the upgrade is interrupted for some reason - it's been fixing faults, not causing them. If the router's been on 24/7 then no problem.

To test it quickly, I would access the router 192.168.0.1 by ethernet
Turn on SSID broadcast
Disable Security Options
Click Apply and try to connect with laptop

Or RESET and start from scratch - sounds good.

i have tried both options and it still isnt connecting on the laptops wirelessly.

the routers firmware is v1.02.28 how do i update this?

the router has been on 24/7 so i am not sure what has happened.

any help is appreciated

Get your Sky V1 Firmware here!

Sky User Firmware Upgrade Guidelines

It should really work OK with the old firmware though.
