Insulating beneath ceramic tiles??

I'd be grateful for any views/help anyone can offer me on this - basically I will be re-laying ceramic tiles in my kitchen shortly on top of concrete. I'm not really interested as underfloor heating as an option but wondered if the floor beneath can be insulated in any way to help take the chill off the tiles??? Any opinions on whether it is do-able and if so if it is worth it would be appreciated.

There are insulation boards / tile backers that you can put on the floor prior to tiling. Don't know if you'll feel much benefit if not using underfloor heating though.
You could install underfloor heating just to take the chill off, not necessarily as a main method of heating up the room.
Then again, do you actually need any insualtion there? Do people walk about on the floor in bare feet in the kitchen?
Or do you actually want the insulation to assist in keeping the room warm rather than to stop the tiles from feeling cold to the touch?0
