Art/Design Students can now sell their works

I'm a student at Goldsmith college in London and have recently heard about eyeforart.co.uk. It's a website that displays and sells creative works produced by students.

I name my price and they add on a bit for themselves and give a donation to Goldsmiths for each of my works they sell. Sounds like an easy way to subsidise my life at uni, although they haven't sold any of my stuff yet . . i think they're only launching this month.

Sounds good, but make sure that Goldsmiths are ok with you selling art that you have created under their course (as part of the course I mean). It may well have all changed, but when I was studying we had no ownership of any of the work we carried out as part of the course, and the uni owned the rights to the work (intellectual property included). I spent the three years thinking that it was nonsense, until the end of yr exhibition and an offer from one of my tutors. He wanted to buy something I had done under my course, stupidly I checked with the uni if I could sell it and they said no, and that as they wanted to use it in another exhibition later in the year, that they would keep this particular thing on site.

May have all changed, but check!
