With this being a bank holiday this weekend is it better to wait until Tuesday before doing any interbank transfers.

What would happen if I did a transfer tonight?

It will go through fully on Thursday, or maybe Friday if you're unlucky.

yes do it on tuesday - as will take three/four working days so no point having the money waiting around on non working days earning no interest

Depends how urgent it is / which Bank you're with? If you do it now .. should be on it's way Tuesday. If you do it Tuesday ... won't go until Wed with a few Banks (eg Halifax)

Its not so desperate, although I am usually a bit of a night owl anyway, so if I do the transfer just after midnight on Tuesday morning it should hopefully be winging its way on Tuesday after the banks do what ever they do in the wee small hours
