Can anyone reccommed a cheap cordless mouse with a long range?

I have pc runnig with tv as moniter and cordless keyboard works fine from chair or settee but mouse does not seem to have same range and just wondered if anyone else has a mouse with a long range? I need to be able to use it about 8ft from desk.

Please don't say I am lazy , I sometimes cannot sit on chair at pc for to long due to health problems

A bluetooth mouse should do the job. Bluetooth usually works up to 10 metres, so that should be perfect. I've never used one myself, but I would have thought that most models would work for you, all using the same technology, if you see what I mean.

Make sure if you buy a cordless mouse that it has inbuilt batteries i find cheap mice that use AA batteries that you have to recharge or replace are not worth the hassle most of the time so id definatley look for a mouse with a lithium battery built in and has a stand for recharging it on.

Personally ive used for the last 4 years a "Logitech laser MX1000" which cost me around £40 at the time and it does everything you want works well from 4-5 meters away, i used to regularly use it on my bed sheets to change the music from 5 meters away before i moved.

Why not buy a 2 metre USBa to USBb lead, and thereby extend the wireless "dongle" of the mouse. Longer lengths are available, but 2 metres should be sufficient.

PS. A Logitech V450 works well. Obtainable from PCWorld for £19:99 (ordered on line)
