help retreiving picturs and info from G600?

Options
Hi, not really a money saving question other than i dont want to buy a new phone!

So, my G600 phone has died, so i am using my old contract phone which still works.. problem is, i have lots of pictures and music on my samsung that I want, but can no long access...

i replaced the battery, and now the phone turns on occasionally, but when it does it does not recognise my sim card... which is odd because it works fine in my old one!

Do any of you techie people know how i can get my stuff off the phone onto my laptop, or my other phone, without turning on the phone, or at least without my sim in?? I have another G600 here and was even wondering if there was some way of swapping some parts??

Cheers!

Do you know if your pictures and music are stored on the phone's memory card, or on the internal memory? If they're on the memory card it would just be a case of swapping the memory card into your other phone. Seeing as how you have another g600, there wouldn't be a problem of the memory card being incompatible. But if its on the internal memory then we'll have to think some more!

Ah. Does the phone do anything at all when you can switch it on without the sim card? Or does it just refuse to do anything past the 'please insert simcard' message.

well, it seems to be only turning on occassionally... some times it wond turn on and i have to fiddle with it a little... some times it freezes at the bootup screen, and some times it gets to the "insert sim" screen and thats it... when i plug it into my laptop using the lead the samsung software isnt detecting that its plugged in even..

Oh. Another thought, how old is the phone? If its less than a year then you can send it back can't you?

Yeah I thought as much. I'm afraid I don't know how or if its possible, but in theory it should be, the data's still intact on a chip somewhere in the phone.
