Sorry if this has been answered before but cannot find any threads on this.
Friend flying to Edinburgh from Bristol and wondered if she would have access to the duty free goods. If so, is she allowed to buy goods on the flight up and bring them on the flight back?
What limits would apply?
Cheers

No flights within Europe can sell duty free, same goes for ferries. Some advertise goods at "duty free prices" but this is a con as you can get the same goods cheaper on the high street. They sometimes make things look cheaper by selling smaller bottles.0

But tobacco is much cheaper in the 'duty free' shops at Bristol Airport. There is always light within the dark0

The shops can sell VAT free but not duty free to Domestic/EU passengers.
If you flying elsewhere you can buy duty free - generaly there are 2 different shelves labeled appropriatly, often with the duty free version (if alcohol) having a higher strength.0 -

Not strictly true, you can still get "duty frees" if you fly to the Channel Islands.0 -

But thats because the channel islands aren't part of the EU.0 -

That wasn't the question -
"No flights within Europe can sell duty free" was the statement; the last time I was in St Helier it was still in Europe !0 -
St Helier is in europe but not in the EU therefore you could buy duty free goods outbound however on re-entering the EU, ie the UK, you would be over your duty free allowance from a non-eu state.

While we are being pedantic, you can also buy duty free cigarettes, from the bars, on Dover-Calais ferries, admittedly only 2 packs of 20 per person and supposedly for use on board but there are at least 5 or 6 bars and cafes selling them so you could end up with quite a haul.0
