Which DVD Creator/ Maker Software?

Morning All, i'm looking to purchase a DVD Creator/maker for my laptop (HP Pavilion, running Windows XP)

Anyone have any suggestions? I understand that the more you pay generally means the easier to use and more features it's got. However, i would like to get a cost effective one that still has a lot of features.

Your input and advice as always, would be really appreciated.

Many Thanks

Pete :T

P.S - as i'm quite impatient i would quite like to download the software instead of wait for a CD to arrive as well, but will take on any advice given.

Cheers

It depends what you mean by "DVD Creator/maker". Do you need something that can import video from a camcorder and edit it? Or just something that will convert an video file to a DVD? Do you want something that will create fancy menus on a DVD?
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

Adobe Premier Elements, for a cheap version (around £70), or full Premier if you have deep pockets. There are probably cheaper apps which would fit your requirements like Pinnacle Studio for around £20 too.

If you had a Mac running the bundled iDVD, you could do all this as standard. iDVD is a superb application, but they don't make it for Windows.

Well if you're runnign XP you should have MovieMaker which gives you basic editing and should allow you to import videos from your camcorder assuming it's a digital one.

I've used DVDLab to create menus in the past and found it works well. You can download a 30 day trial of the standard version (DVDLab1.31) or DVDLab Studio from here. But it's going to be expensive to buy.
