rundll is a 'core' windows program that is used to run other programs. the error message you are probably seeing is windows trying to run a program that doesn't exist. can you give us the exact error message you see, and also clarify if you are saying that the program trying to run is related to a download/or plugin related to myspace.com?

hmm, i might be mistaken but it sounds like your pc might have had mywebsearch malware installed on it at some point. it's an interent explorer plugin toolbar that provides a search facility across multiple engines. if you google around or look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MyWay_Searchbar you can find out more. i would start by running something like spybot search&destroy to see if that helps?

you could go down the route of trying to remove it manually (Start->Run->type Regedit and hit return to start regedit). You would need to search for the registry entries that referenced the 'bad' files (e.g.m3plugin.dll) but if you are not sure what you are doing this can be tricky.

I doubt its still on your computer, otherwise you wouldnt have got the error in the first place.
As you've disabled it from trying to run, I would just leave it like that, but if you really wanted rid of it you would have to clean up the registry, which can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. There are programs that can clean the registry for you (I use Eusing Free Registy Cleaner), but thats not guaranteed to get rid of it. Worth a try if you really want to get rid of it though.

You don't need a registry cleaner at all, you just need to know where in the registry this runs from

    hklm\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run

It should no longer exist in here if you have removed it with msconfig but you can double check if you wish.

It might be worth running a hijack this report and posting the details here. Follow the instructions in the stickys at the top of this page.
  • True, you don't need a registry cleaner, you can edit it like TonyLisaP said. The only reason I didnt say this is because if you edit the wrong things you can seriously mess your computer up. SO just make sure you know what your doing, or use the registy cleaner which is much safer. And as a bonus, the registry cleaner would clean out all the other rubbish in the registry too.
