Hey IA, you'll know the taps are closed if there isn't water p1ssing out when no pipes connected. Once you connect the red and blue pipes you can open the valves and you will be connected and water on.

Also you need to ensure the waster pipe out of machine, usually grey ridged flexible one, goes directly into a U bend looking one which is the waste pipe. It kinda just shoves into that pipe but make sure you shove it in until it catches and won't come out again. i.e. in under the U part....

That should be ready to go after that.

    Good luck.

Re moving the machine, try sitting on your bum on the floor and shoving it with your legs, a la leg press style... this should minimise chance of hurting your back.

I have done the diner room and washing is on the line. Next is the living room. Got the radio on and make the time go loads quicker.

I told my self i am gonna do a bit of housework every day to make it easy on me. :)
  • Hi, Relaxing today though been for a run, walked kids the 1.9miles to school, then done shopping on way back, sorted out all the washing. Kind of recovering from yesterday. We were all leap froging over concrete bollards and my DS1,(who can't do it though DS2 can), fell sprained wrist. School sent me and him to minor injuries:o. Anyhoo despite this he thought he would make a cake after tea. which I somehow had to try and put right. Bathing DS3, when "Gordon blooming Ramsay," starts nagging to look at the cake. I stomped into the kitchen to say "what's that smell"?! I had left hob of cooker on and DS2's packed lunch box had feel from the top shelf and was melting away on the ring, seconds away from catching alight:eek: . So had to finish the bottle of wine, once they were all in bed, to recover from the shock. Hey! Ho! Roll on the weekend.(I think!);) :rotfl:

I did that once with a casserole dish..Not the leapfrogging (legs too short) but the hob. sauce smelt good for weeks.

    Hello all,

hope everyone is ok. Not been around for a month or so been moving house and getting very stressed about it!

IA I plummed in our washing machine last week its easy! Not sure if you said it was a brand new machine or not? if it is then you don't need to reconnect the hot as the new type only use the cold as they heat the water up itself. The waste just goes in the hole the old one came from and don't forget to plug it in! I did and couldn't work out why it wouldn't work, I then had to pull the flipping thing back out again!

Hope thats of some help at least
