How do I know when the water supply is turned out? Managed to get the old one out but it's still connected.

Morning....bright & sunny on the Lancashire coast....:)

I-A, have the pipes got little taps on? blue & red ones? if you turn them the other way to the way they were, that will switch the water off for you to connect the new pipe / pipes. Did you ever get the water out of the old washer?

BTW, got the news last night that my temporary Council contract has been made permanent with immediate effect :D

    That's great news floss.

As for the taps I *think* MIL's fella turned them off to stop anymore water going into the machine..

If you can cope with the upset in your kitchen, why not wait until tonight & Ste's home? The maybe the 2 of you can get it sorted....but not when you're ready to go out in case you get wet!

However, and don't take this as an instruction, personally I would try & sort it, if only to prove to myself & DF that I could (but I'm a bit like that ;))

Have you read the installation instructions....is the drum imobilised at all? That may explain why it's really heavy....

Sar why not decide what you need washed urgently & hand wash them ? Should dry on a nice day like today if you wring them out well. I know I know pain in the @rse BUT easier than plumbing surely ?
