The better spec IS the spec ...Comet just probably dont realise
Bought mine instore at Lincoln....very few stores seem to have had these 'specials' sent to them as stock ...either ring around or ring the online order number and tell them you work away and cannot be in for delivery thing at any time ...they CAN take payment and arrange to have one sent to store ...OR all branches are now free to order one for you...0 -

Got one today for only 599.00 less 5% off with pre-bought vouchers via link on this site so total 570 quid...must ask for the special 1691 with SKU number 263974 as the standard model ...of very nearly identical spec is approx 800 quid. Also you can buy instore and avoid high delivery costs...
I have trawled pricerunner etc for a good fully-featured Centrino and always come up with 690-850 costings so this came at just the right time .
?????How did you get 5% off? Can you please explain?0 -
I went to get the 1691WLMi from Comet (Not the 1691 as mentioned above)
The store price is something like £749.99 but I was sure I saw it only for £691.
I went to the store and sure enough, it was £749.99. The manager would not budge on price. I told him it was only for £691 so he checked the web and smugly told me there was no such item on the Comet site and that I had got the price mixed up with the model number. I was sure so I told him I would go home and get the print out to prove it and that if I was right I wanted him to honour it, he told me that he couldn't anyway as they cannot price promise against Comet online. When I got home, I could not find it anywhere nor was it on the Comet website. I did a google search and found a number of references for £691.99 linking to a dead link on the Comet site. I printed them off and took them to the store. The manager was suprised to see me back and looked suspectingly at my printouts. I told him I brought them to prove I was right and that I had spent the whole morning running round because of Comets princing error. (I phone Comet online and they told me the item had probably been taken off the site recently).
Anyway, the manager eventually decided to let me have it for the £691.99 and allowed it to be price matched against Comet online. The really good thind was, on the checkout, the girl gave a further 10% discount because they have a policy of bettering a price match by 10%, cost about £6200
