0845 and 0870 numbers ouch!!! lets fight back!!

I am a manager at a catering firm and every day I place my orders etc and 80% of the calls are 0845 or 0870 numbers and I rack up 30+ minutes a day on these numbers.
The bugbear is that Most of my suppliers are locally based! Cheek.
I heard of a chap on Radio 2 I think, who owned a business and changed his number to an 0870 or 0845, just to get his own back on his suppliers!
What an idea.
Does anybody know how I can do that?

  • Have you had a look at the site https://www.saynoto0870.com

1.This has been discussed a number of times before ,and you will find useful info about how to go about it there.(I assume you are only going to ask the suppliers to ring it,that use these numbers, and not your normal customers.
2.You may also be able to find there geographical alternatives to the 0845/0870 numbers you ring.If not there you can post a request to see if anyone can find them for you.
