Hi,
I am thinking of moving house - I would estimate the value of my house to be between 160k - 170k - and would be purchasing at around the same value - I was wondering what costs I should budget for - so far I have thought\estimated :-
1% Stampduty of house purchase (£1700)
1.5 % estate agent fees (£2500)
What should I include for legal fees, searches ect ? - any estimates - or good online solictors ?
any other costs i haven't thought of ?

You haven't included VAT on your EA fees but you should only want to pay 1% so you're looking at £2000.
Solicitors fees to buy £1000 including searches.
Solicitors fees to sell - £500
Mortgage valuation fee
Mortgage arrangement fee (might be added to loan)
Separate survey?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Ok
Estate Agents fees £2000 (Vat Inc)
Stamp duty £1700
Legal fees (Buying & including searches) £1000
Legal Fees Selling £500
Total so Far £5200
Anybody any ideas on the following:-
HIPS - is it best to get this from the estate agent - or DIY - have seen one from houseladder for £350
Survey - Homebuyers report - about £400 resonable estimate
would I need a valuation as well as the homebuyers report ?
removal costs about £400 seem reasonable ?
Grand Total £6400 ???0 -
Howdy!
Going through the whole move thing at the moment. I suppose you could include the actual cost of removals. Also, if you want mail redirection, that's another 7 quid a month for as long as you want it. Then if you've got Sky and you want to take it, it can cost up to £50. Not big costs I know!People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks. Years later, a doctor will tell me that I have an I.Q. of 48 and am what some people call mentally !!!!!!.0
