Donate unwanted furniture or white goods

Most of the 17 million items of furniture and domestic appliances sent to landfill sites every year could be re used.:mad:

will put u in touch with one of the 400 charities in the uk whod like furnishings you want. Most collect, too, and redistribute items to thoses in need of them.:T

Established in 1989 The Furniture Re-use Network (FRN) is the national co-ordinating body for 400 furniture and appliance re-use and recycling organisations in the UK that collect a wide range of household items to pass onto people in need. The FRN promotes the re-use of unwanted furniture and household effects for the alleviation of need, hardship, distress and poverty. 2 million items per year are re-used and passed onto low income families. 85,000 tonnes of waste is diverted from landfill and 3000 people are working in the UK to collect and deliver furniture and appliances.
There are presently over 160 organisations within the FRN that refurbish and re-use domestic appliances. In total the FRN repairs and passes on over 250,000 domestic appliances a year to low-income families across the UK that cannot afford to purchase new appliances.
FRN members operate the largest fridge collection service in the UK. Collecting over 300,000 fridges a year. Up to 15% are re-useable and are passed onto low income families.
FRN members will play a key role in the management of UK Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). 35+ regional centres are under development offering a full audit trail and will use fit for re-use a WEEE compliant national standard for appliance re-use and recycling published by the FRN.
The FRN is a registered charity, no 1090824 and a registered company, no 4154818
