Hewlett Packard printer problem

Hi.Sorry if this is the wrong forum.
I have a Hewlett Packard printer (Officejet V45)
Its about 5 years old and has served me well.....until now that is.
When i print onto paper (especially glossy)i am getting horizontal lines on the paper.
Ive inserted new ink cartridges(H.P.original ones)and cleaned the heads but still the same problem.
Could it be the rollers inside are leaving these lines? or the printer has served its time and time for a new one?

Hello George&Ade
I'll move your thread to the 'Techie Stuff' board.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

If you have cleaned the heads it sounds like the rollers are pressing the paper too hard or the head is 'just' touching the paper as it skims across, leaving the horizontal lines. You will notice that more so on thicker paper (as you are experiencing now...with the glossy paper).
I've seen on some printers where you can adjust the roller height using a lever on the priner (Epson?)...maybe you can do it on yours?"When you're right no one remembers. When you're wrong no one forgets." :rolleyes:0 -
wipe the lower edge of the ink carriage, it can get a small build up of paper dust there, as darkfibre suggests in post0
