    I think the XPS range are aimed more at gamers and power users, whereas the Inspiron range are more for the general use home users.

    yeah i'd agree with that "russ_gillespie". So it just depends what your going to be using it for.

    How do you define "Power User"?
    Does this mean the XPS is a better more powerful laptop.

    It is aimed at the high end user who uses processor heavy apps like games at high graphics or very big number crunching. Therefore it is more expensive. The Inspiron range is for home users who simply want to surf, get email, watch the occasional DVD, write letters etc.
