The time has come to get serious about going wireless. We use a speedtouch modem on Orange. I don't want to use their wireless connection as I've heard some horrible stories.
What sort of wireless modem do I need and can anyone recommend the best sort.

Chris,
The D-Link wireless modems are of good quality for reasonable prices. My brother has one and never had any problems.
Is your speedtouch wireless? I heard they are pretty good.
Please see the D-Link specs on this link: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/product/seo/886222Member 7 of 100 to 10k - £100 to £10k = £1490 -
No our modem is wired - ie connected to our laptop.0

D-link and Netgear are two of the best and easiest to use for the average home user. Might be worth changing your ISP and getting a free Router for the price you would pay though. Orange are nasty, like as in Wannado nasty, Ive got four months left of my contract, needless to say I'm going to be demanding my Mac code at the end of it.
Loads of choices but try to avoid names like "Livebox" or "HomeHub".To travel at the speed of light, one must first become light.....0 -
Ok, missed that point.
In that case, it's worth checking the Speed touch wireless modem. I highly recommend it.
Speed touch are actually manufactured by Thomson. Maybe you can contactOrange and get them to upgrade!
Either way, check the Thomson link below for more info about speedtouch:
