I wonder how important the i is?

The 'i' is just an abbreviation for 'Intel'. Sorry for not being clearer.

On my local stuff for sale there is a guy always advertising an xp tower for a tenner. May be a moneysaving option to look for similar local to you.

I have an old Compaq workstation which I still use - it takes PC100 but ONLY ECC (as I found out eventually!) So I have a few sticks of RAM (64 / 128 / 256Mb) which I can send. I run XP and now have 512MB and it runs great.
PM me with your details if you like and I'll send you some.

I have 512 of RAM now and I find it's not enough, I can only go up to 1024 with what I've got.
