My thoughts would be:
How much do you need the money??

How much will the day out cost??

Can you compromise - nice afternoon/evening out somewhere

Whats the weather forcast like !! Nice family days out aren't quite so much fun when its heaving down with rain

As another poster said days out as a family are lovely and to be enjoyed but getting DF is all about balance.
