Ibrox to Glasgow City Centre

Hello all,

Going to Ibrox next Saturday. Not been there for a few years. Can You please advise what is the best method for getting back to the city centre. Do you have to wait a while for underground after matches? Which is the best station to get on/off? Better to get a bus?

I think most locals use the tube and it does get real busy after the game, however the queue, hearded by the police on horses, does seem to always be shuffling forward and I have often wondered if it's the rush to the tube that causes the 80 minute exodus from Ibrox?

Assuming you are wearing Blue, you cannot beat the likes of The Grapes and The District bar on Paisley Road W for a sing song before the game, or for a plastic pint glass of joy nearer to the ground, I would recommend the palatial surroundings of the Stadium Bar... however if you are a Dundee United fan, I would suggest you ignore all the above and try to get yourself on a local supporters bus... It'll be faster, easier, safer and a whole lot more fun. :)

    Thanks for both replies.
I am indeed a Dundee United fan. Not been to Ibrox since about 2000. But seen plenty of victories there. Would it be easier getting an ordinary bus back into trhe city centre if so - what number and where from? Also is cessnock station nearer town centre or towards the airport?
