Credit Scoring question

Just got my credit report from Experian - can see I need to close a couple of dead accounts but also my partner is shown as a linked name presumably becuase we once applied for a mortgage together that we decided against. We are not linked ie. no bank accounts/mortgages/credit agreements together - should I use the disassociation form to get him off my file or is there any reason why I should keep him on it? I hope this makes sense

I don't think you can disassociate yourself as you jointly applied for credit.0

We did not proceed with application - experian say I can disassociate0

Jus re-read the bit with his name on and its say it only appears on my copy of the report not on the lenders so dont suppose it really affects my credit scoring or am I wrong in my thinking - anyone know much about how this works?0

Any 'financial associate' search will be on your copy only. However, any financial association created (by yourself when you ordered your report and included [mistakenly] your partner's details, or by a lender because you told them you were associated) will be visible to other lenders.
How is it described on your (paper copy?) report, ie...
Type of association FINANCIAL ASSOCIATION
Association confirmed by YORKSHIRE BUILDING SOCIETY on 21/09/2007
or...
Type of association FINANCIAL ASSOCIATION
Association confirmed by EXPERIAN CREDIT REPORT (1) on 21/09/2007
This information was provided to us by you when you applied for your credit report via our website.0 -
My partner and I applied for a mortgage a couple of months ago and did not go ahead with it cos of the stupid repayments, I got her name removed my file two days ago, you can not be disassociated if the account is live and stays on your file for 6 years.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
His name appears on the application that we made together as Financial Association Nationwide - this application did not proceed.
But then later on his name shows in the searches section where he has recently applied for credit cards and it lists his name and date when he was searched against.
I did not request his name on my search or apply for anything in his name. Really i suppose what I am asking is does his name on my report whether it is seen by lenders or not affect my credit scoring. He is well paid got a mortgage and has not been denied any credit as far as I am aware. Just weird that his name comes up when really the only thing that links us is that we live together ??0
