Toolbars

Hi All,
I'm sure this must have already been discussed however I could'nt find anything using the 'search function'...

I've had an e-mail from Microsoft promoting its
'MSN Search Toolbar with Windows Desktop Search'. I had a look and thought it sounded quite good apart from the fact you have to use Internet Explorer with it. I know that there are other similar tools available (I want to use Firefox). What do people think of these? Are they useful? Which do you recommend?

I've never found a toolbar worthwhile with firefox because you can get much more out of extensions - and they don't take up browser space

For fun I made my own toolbar:
    http://www.effectivebrand.com/

I was impressed with the ease I could make one there but I've never installed it. - Don't know if I trust toolbars not to have spyware (google, msn and yahoo aside)
