Email Error Message

No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

The above error message comes up when I try to access my email. I am with freeserve (Orange) broadband. Can anyone tell me how to sesolve this problem?

    Have you got a firewall installed on your PC? The error is relating to OE failing to connect, which could be due to a firewall blocking the port..

    My firewall is installed but in the past this has not been a problem. However I yesterday installed a number of Microsoft Updates, I was wondering if this is the cause and if so how to resolve it.

    The email was ok two days ago before the updates so I wouldn't think the pop and smtp can be incorrect.

    Thanks Espreso, I changed the POP3 and SMTP settings, all is ok now.I still can't understand what changed to stop it working in the first place.
