  • Just found out about this - luckily in this house of disorganised chaos I found the disk - haven't found a holder yet though. Will probably just leave it blue tacked to the dash mse style!

This also applies to motorbikes, and you are supposed to display the disc on the nearside of the bike.

Not that it says that on the document - all it says is that it should be kept safe so that it can be presented if requested.

Once the car is 4 year old it needs MOT'd every year from there on.

DVLNI Should send you out a reminder closer to the time.

    Show off:D :D:D:D

Recently I haven't either to be honest, but will do in the future, bought my current car for £10,500 september 2004 went to change it after 3 years and best trade in I was offered as £2,000:eek: Gonna drive this one into the ground now and buy secondhand car in future;) so will need to display my MOT in future.

Having said that past cars that needed MOT when past I have been handed my certificate at the test centre and the disc with disc holder that I displayed;) I'm all for it TBH. Much like Tax and Insurance on cars it is compulsory and offenders should be punishable by death:D :D:D:D:D
I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:
  • Just out of interest, they said that they came up with the number of non MOT'd cars over here (suggesting NI had a huge problem with MOT dodgers) by subtracting the amount of MOT'd cars from the amount of TAX'd cars therefor giving the number of 'cars running round with no mot'..........now what about this-all the people over here who run a cherished registration numbers business (selling our reg numbers to uk,or anywhere else) have all the registration numbers stored on vehicles that they then have to store somewhere like a huge lock up -these vehicles must be TAX'd to do a transfer.....but dont need to be MOT'd SO the government have got their numbers completley screwed up as i know at least one dealer over here who has well over 1000 vehicles TAX'd and not MOT'd for this very reason......and i know many others will have the same quantities as thats how their business works-the vehicles are never on the road, mearly a donor venicle.
We have so many dealers of registrations here (my parents being one-but not the 1000 cars one, lol!) that you can imagine just how far wrong the figures really are!!!!
