Super Glue And Lock

Hi,
We have problem at our football ground where the pitch is fenced in. The local teens think it is a great idea to put super glue into the locks, hence the lock nees constantly replacing.
I have tried Acetone to remove the glue but it has no joy.
Anybody know of a lock which will stop this or a liquid which will dissolve the glue?
Thanks.

Acetone/ Nail polish remover usually does the trick. You could try putting sometype of anti tamper device or even paint in the lock, could be messy though. Could you install a code lock rather than a key lock?0

You could try coating the lock with Grease after you lock up.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

I've been told that if you spray inside the lock with WD40 after you lock it the glue won't be adhere.0

Have you tried a different type of lock ie combination lock.
No hole to superglue.0 -
I thought of a combination lock, but they will just squeeze super glue in to the gaps around the dials.
I think I will try WD40 , see what happens :-)Student Loan - £2200, Cleared June 2008

DONT use WD40 on locks. WD stands for water dispersent. It also removes the graphite based lubricant that is put into locks. That is why often you spray a lock, it works for a week or two then totally siezes up.
Either use a light grease, which should stop the glue, or use Silicon spray.

Get an old syringe and pump vaseline into the lock. Old trick used on cars to stop their locks freezing up in winter.0

You can buy Superglue debonder, which is designed for un-glueing fingers that have become stuck together."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
