Optical Express - 4 weeks & no refund £175!!

So I bought two pairs of specs from Optical Express and subsequently they were unsuitable.. one of the frames was faulty, the 2nd pair was delayed and when it finally arrived it was scratched - wore them for 2 days and ended up with horrendous migraines. So decided I would take them back.

No probelm the bloke said, a cheque would be sent to me within 2 weeks..

2 weeks came and went and nothing. Phoned head office and they said they had no request for a cheque to be raised. They contacted the store and they apologised and said there had been an oversight and that it would definately be raised that day.

Well another 2 weeks has gone by and still nothing. Phoned Head office again just now, and surprise surprise - they haven`t got any record of it being raised.

The very nice lady apologised and said she would contact the store and call me back shortly... so am not waiting. Why they can`t just refund me in store is beyond me, but I am absolutely fed up with them !!

£175 is a hell of a lot to me, and i`m just discusted with the stores incompetance !!

Will let you know when the Head office lady rings back !

    Did you pay by cheque?
 I have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.

In that case they should (IMHO) have refunded onto your card in the shop

Absolutely right. And if it was a credit card, get on to the Credit Card company, tell them the story and have them refund you.

Well cheque arrived on Friday - so raced off to the bank with it to get it processed before the bank holiday weekend.

Head office were helpful, it seemed to be the store making all the mock ups !
