orange livebox problems.

We have an on-going problem with our orange broadband connection.
All most everyday we will be unable to use the internet dispite the our computors showing we are connected. We have been in contact with Orange helpline (India:mad:) on numerous occassions. Basically they ask to go through the same procedure and then tell us they will do a line test etc.
So far, we have had a BT engineer around and he hooked upto our line and found no faults (the internet was working at this time). On his word, we arranged for a new livebox (we had already replaced filters) but still the same problem exists. I have asked for mac number but orange have stalled, saying try this - try that , all to no avail. My kids are crazing me to change provider, but would the problem still exist with a new provider?

Thanks for any help.

weve had exactly the same problems, although havent bothered ringing CS as i know from past experience how rubbish they are.

i swop to BT tomorrow - so far theyve sent me an email and phoned everyday to confirm where they are up to - and its £2 a month cheaper.

my parents are with orange, although they are "wired" - they are having the same problems - goes off line, loses connection, very, very slow etc.

i emailed orange for my mac code and got it within24hrs.

be careful changing provider, make sure they are the cause as it varies from area to area, you could find that some of the problems are down to your end ie system, filters, router etc, and if u sort them at least you may not be locked into a new "12 month" contract with an even worse provider

I had this problem for weeks with Orange.
I found out in the end that the user name and password I had given them had not been spelled correctly.
Check with them letter for letter that they have the same user name and password that you are typing into your Livebox settup.
