BMW 330CI Sport Auto MPG
I have seen a BMW that im hoping to buy, but i was wondering if anybody that own's one or has driven one could tell me what the mpg is like, i would be driving the car within the city. With petrol price increasing, i thought i would double check on figures before buying the car. The BMW figures say Combined Fuel Consumption is 31 mpg.

Which wersion of the 3 series is it?
My e46 330 CI (Manual) manages around 33 MPG on a run but fuel consumption can seriously increase when driving round town in traffic jams.0 -
Its a E46 2003 Plate. Currently im driving a Golf V5 which give MGP between 25 to 30 so losing a couple MPG wont be to bad. Whats the MPG like when your stuck in traffic?0

Are you serious?
You want a 3.o litre BMW, but you're worried about MPG?0 -

I always reset my computer when I fill the tank. Since I last filled up I've been going to and from work in a mixture of conditions but mostly stop and start traffic in the rush hour. This morning the display said 25 MPG but I have seen it go as low as 23 if traffic has been really bad.
I used to have a 2.0 MR2 (Mk2 normally asperated) and the BMW comes pretty close to the MR2 in terms of petrol consumption despite having a much larger engine.0 -

It's not about the engine size, BMW are know to give a decent MPG and its something i just wanted to know before i buy it.
The Golf im driving now is a 2.3 which gives decent MPG, but dont mind losing a couple MPG if i can have a 330ci.0 -
Dont forget if you go for the Auto option you will lose a few MPGs compared with what I'm getting0

The quoted figures are:
(urban) 22.1mpg
(extra urban) 40.9mpg
(combined) 31.0mpg
I would knock 5 mpg off each of those figures to give a realistic figure. The man without a signature.0 -
Automatics will absolutely guzzle fuel around town. My 2.0i auto is fantastic on long journeys (500+ miles to a 60l tank) but around town she's rubbish. I've used quarter of a tank (£15-20) in four days just running my boyfriend to work and back; he only works a few miles away.0
