Anyone used ZitAuto?

We are going to Portugal in June:j and are looking to hire a car. Have been recomended Zitauto, seem very reasonable compared to everyone else. Has anyone used them? I'm also contemplating taking out excess insurance separately as suggested by Martin, has anyone else done this too?

This car hire stuff is a minefield and so confusing!!!

We have used Zitauto a couple of times now, and I strongly recommend them.

It seems a little strange just meeting a man in the concourse at the airport and collecting keys in 2 minutes, rather than queuing for half an hour at one of the car rental desks. By the second time, we were smirking at the others queueing as we walked out to collect our car from the car park, just outside the door.

Last time we went, my wife lost her licence a week before we left, so we were unable to show it at the airport. We got in touch with them and they said that it would not be a problem. They did the rental agreement in my name, and worded it to include any driver, rather than the more usual named drivers.

Very positive experience and we would definitely use them again.
