I was the same cistolic! I only wanted girls because I'm one of 3 girls, went to an all-girl school and married my first boyfriend so boys were alien creatures to me! :rotfl:... and I ended up with 2 boys! :D After our youngest was born, I was still determined we'd try for another after things got a bit easier because I just wanted a healthy one. :( Things didn't really get any easier for quite a few years though, by which time we decided we were too old to cope with the routines of a baby ... not to mention the extra lifelong worry!

Absolutely no regrets. :) I've borrowed Sassi's signature for another forum I visit because it's so true for me:

"I wouldn't change my son for the world but I'd change the world for him"

It took nearly 14 years to come to terms with his problems, something I thought I'd never ever do because I couldn't see how I'd ever be happy that he was born with so many problems. But somehow everything just clicked, I stopped longing for something that just wasn't meant to be and started to enjoy what I did have and I realised that I really wouldn't want him any other way because he truly is a very special person and the light of my life. :)

I've only been lurking a bit tonight, but just thought I'd say that I think that's such a lovely outlook on life. xxx

Oh and I keep meaning to say what a great avatar. My son had a kidney transplant when he was 3 years old - it not only saved his life but also gave us back ours because they were on hold for the 18 months that he was on dialysis.
