On my training course a month ago, there was a really interesting bit about the difference between having your baby delivered by a Midwife or a Doctor back in the early 1900's. More mothers were dying from delivery by a Doctor than a Midwife & they worked out it was because the Midwives washed their hands between patients & wore clean aprons. The Doctors would come straight from the morgue, in the same suits & not always washing their hands, so were passing on all sorts!

I always put my gel on :D:D

Dr Chris on This morning was talking about this the other day. (yes I was having a lazy day off watching daytime tv:rotfl:)
Can't remember what it was called but basically there is only one antibiotic it's resistant to.

Infection control is sooooo big in hospitals at the moment.
Hand washing techniques, use of gel, as Rab was saying is very big.
And on the same vain as what Rab was saying, they found out alot of bugs were being spread by doctors and their ties.
The ties always used to flap about when they were seeing patients, and just spread bugs from one to another. so I think now, they discourage the wearing of ties.

Anyhoo, had a lovely day at work today, no stress, working with a good group of people and feel very happy tonight.
Got a glass of wine, going to have a mooch about here, and have a day off tomorrow.
And two weeks today me and the family will be on our jollies. Woohoo.:j
