Kids And White Shirts Don't Go Together

BACK TO SCHOOL YESTERDAY AND MY 6 YR OLD CAME BACK WITH DINNER SPILLAGES DOWN HIS BRANND NEW CRISP WHITE SCHOOL SHIRT.
HAVE USED VANISH BUT WITH NO SUCCESS AND IT IS NOW SOAKING IN OXY BUT I CAN STILL SEE THE STAINS (TOMATOE SAUCE FROM BEANS OR SOMETHING)
I ALWAYS HAVE A JOB WITH THEIR SHIRTS AND STAINS
ANY STAINBUSTING ADVICE

I use borax (available in my local Boots store) to remove persistant stains. I think it costs £2.10 for 750g.
Soak the shirt in your usual detergent, then remove and add borax directly onto the stain while the shirt is still wet. Leave for about half an hour then wash as you usually would. It nearly always removes the stain.
