i have to make do without my parents money and i rely on public transport x

Maybe I'll compromise and go for 2 weeks when she can take a hoilday from work and plan a bigger trip for 2010 and tell her that I am going then no matter what. Good part about that is I'll have more saved by then.Hey I am usually good at looking on the bright side.

well the car is mostly for us to use to ferry my grandson about as we went all environmentally responsible and got rid of our car.

Hi Ruth, im a softie too, I look after my grandson for my daughter to go to college.
When she first asked me i was thrilled as i do not work and had the time to spare and love spending time with my grandson!!!:D

But under your circumstances i would suggest that you talk to your daughter and say that maybe you would be willing to do this but that you need to have your holiday first and maybe after your holiday work it out that you have him a couple of days and perhaps she could get a childminder for the other days.

It is a hard decision to make because if you do you will feel your back to running around after a little one as when yours were young, but if you dont you feel guilty!!!

Which ever decision you make im sure your daughter will understand and support your decision, good luck xx
