Yes I am beginning to feel that way too after raising your kids and seeing them leave home you would have thought you could then get on with your own thing. Guess I've been too soft. Maybe I should tell her that I can do it till we am ready to go and then she should sort other arrangement for the time we are away esp as my friend down under is disappointed that we might not make it.

Ruth - Im sure you want to help your daughter but make sure you are not taken advantage of. I had my first baby when I was 18 and although my parents are great and very supportive they made it clear that it was my baby and not theirs. Although this might seem harsh it did me well and made me stand on my own 2 feet. Sometimes tough love is necessary. Obviously I dont know the details and may be way off the mark so apologies in advance if thats the case.

Sorry for the garbled messages but one of the penglings is awake so off to settle them before they wake up too much - then Ive got no chance of getting them back to sleep - if Im not back later I'll see you all tomorrow. x x x
