Hi everyone,
I'm hoping one of you clever people can point me in the right direction?
I use Access a lot, mostly for data comparison but I've started building user databases. I'm pretty new to VBA tbh so I'm still learning the best ways to interact with the user.
I'm working on a database with loads of background and report creation functions but with few forms that users will see e.g. splash, main menu, forms for updating actions etc.
I have a user form containing data (tabstrip, various list boxes etc) with a subform attached. The subform is the part the users fill in.
I have put some validation in to make text/list/combo boxes visable based on users selecting certain statuses from combo boxes which they work through. How do I interact with the navigation buttons though to pop up error messages and stop them moving records if they have missed something I need them to fill in?
I know how to call functions within command buttons to do it but I don't know how to do it with the form navigation buttons. I could take those buttons off but I don't know how to then create a text box that shows the current record number.
Has anyone got any ideas or can recommend a place to look for this as I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.
Thanks in advance.
