    Ah yes I should have thought to recommend this as this is how I got my first and current car. Also, don't be afraid to be interested in a car someone wants to scrap so long as there's no serious MOT fail problems or mechanical problems with it. I got one such car and 1 year 5 months on, and 2 MOT's all seems good. So if you know someone who wants to scrap a car, pay some interest in it and ask what's up with it. You might even get it for nothing, then even if it does need a bit of work doing on it it might be a good acquisition :)
