help on NI contributions please

Hope smeone can help, my partner has been refused income based job seekers allowance as she has been told she hasnot made enough NI contributions in two qualifying years. She cannot claim income based as I am working. How can I find out how much she has underpaid to see if it is worth paying this so she can get job seekers.

Your partner would need to contact the local National Insurance Office or the main National Insurance office which is based in Newcastle to get a record of her National Insurance. If you were to pay to make up incomplete years it would have to be via voluntary National Insurance contributions, these will help towards State Retirement Pension but would NOT help towards a claim for JSA.0
