I have one wee question that noone else has asked.....can YOU buy him out? It would save you trying to find someplace else and with 700 disposable income you sould manage to cover it.....you could even rent out the spare rooms for more cash (presuming as you had three kids visiting you do have extra rooms).
I am also a single moneysaver and although my flat was my own it was my ex leaving that boosted the start of my debt free journey. Like you I missed his darling son more than I missed him. I love kids and it was the closest I had to having my own being a stepmum, just over two years on and I'm still single and being just a little older than you I have days when I feel like I always will. Being single is scary but it is also very liberating, there are so many things I have done and plan to do that I couldn't have done with him.0 -

Hmmm, i had thought of that. He put down the initial deposit though and so I would need about £150K mortgage. Thats 4.75 x my salary. Although i could make the repayments, i don't think i would get it in todays mortgage market.
I know what you mean about the kids, i love them so much. I was with their dad for 7 years and they don't really remember life without me. Am still seeing them, have always got on ok with their Mum so thats not a problem, but it wont be the same.0 -

Thats because I am in a 'writing up year' from my PhD, so although i have a job i am also still registered as a student.
So when OH lived here we stilll qualified for single person discount and now i am alone there should be nothing to pay until Sept when my student status ends. I have told OH that he has to pay it if he doesn't take his name off the house record in time for the next payment.
Thanks for thinking of it though!0 -
