I am aware that not all these comparison web sites are impartial but why is this such a large difference?

I am with Scottish power dual fuel online energy saver 2

Annual consumption

Gas 13216 kWh
Electric 5070 kWh

Annual Bill £1,021

According to energyhelpline.com

British gas is £869 yearly spend 22%
Atlantic electric/gas £875 22%

moneysupermarket.com

British gas is £935.50 yearly (saving £185) Figure looks wrong to me
Atlantic electric/gas £874.75 (saving £124)

I cant work out why there is a discrepancy My bill from SP £1,021 less BG £869 = £152 not £249 that energy helpline states either

Also have to factor in cashback example £60 for GB dual fuel £75 for SP

Are you putting in your annual consumption to the comparison sites?

If so it will work out how much that would cost at todays unit rates which is likely to be more than you spent over the past year (as the unit rates were probably lower for most of last year)

So really, what you spent over the past year is kind of irrelevent as you cant compare it against what you'll be spending this year as the prices have gone up.

Yes I am and inputting correct rates and who I am with including the direct debt monthly

I realise you cant compare last years as bills rise/consumption may change etc you best picking the annual consumption rather than your direct debit per month

Yeah the consumption is the only figure you need to put in, then say what tariff you are on and how you pay. The site should then work out how much that amount of Kwh would cost at todays rates then tell you how much it would cost with the other companies. You need to look to see if moneysupermarket include discounts etc, I know energyhelpline do (apart from prompt payment discounts for quarterly billing)
