Hi, Had to have a new head gasket fitted on 29/04/05 on my Freelander (the car was only 2 years old at the time).
It subsequently went again last summer.
Am now just wondering if the part that was replaced in Apr 2005 would have been under a warranty period when it went again..

This a known and common fault on this model , if I were you I would take it up with the manufacturer as it is clearly some inherrent design fault.
They might offer to pay some of the cost, or only charge you labour.
Good luck..0 -
A dealer may also be aware of an appropriate procedure to sort the problem out that a non-specialist may not be aware of.0

One would've thought that Land Rover would've sorted this by now.......
Maybe they've got alot of shares in the company that makes the headgaskets
I'd contact them direct. Or sell it. They're not built well full stop. Its such a shame - they drive nicely and (as a woman) look nice too. A shame they are cr*p but they've been like that for, what, ten years or so now?Genie
