Hi, Had to have a new head gasket fitted on 29/04/05 on my Freelander (the car was only 2 years old at the time).

It subsequently went again last summer.

Am now just wondering if the part that was replaced in Apr 2005 would have been under a warranty period when it went again..

This a known and common fault on this model , if I were you I would take it up with the manufacturer as it is clearly some inherrent design fault.
They might offer to pay some of the cost, or only charge you labour.

A dealer may also be aware of an appropriate procedure to sort the problem out that a non-specialist may not be aware of.

I'd contact them direct. Or sell it. They're not built well full stop. Its such a shame - they drive nicely and (as a woman) look nice too. A shame they are cr*p but they've been like that for, what, ten years or so now?
